Art Program

Dawn Maria DeCosta is an artist living in Hanson, Massachusetts and working at Harvard university in Boston, Massachusetts. Dawn was born in New London, Connecticut in 1968 and moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 1991. Bold colors and textures compose Dawn’s mixed media paintings. Dawn is inspired by graffiti-like marks, scrapes, layers, and noise against vivid planes. Her abstract expressionism work is loaded with energy, often yielding spontaneous and unexpected results.

 

Dawn has shown her work at the Mystic outdoor arts festival in Mystic, CT, Laura's center for the arts in Hanover, MA, Harvard university in Boston, MA, Brigham and Women’s hospital in Boston, MA, La Belle Aurore restaurant in Niantic, CT, Cottages at 26 Pearl in Mystic, CT, and the YMCA corporate offices in Norwell, MA. Upcoming shows include: Lahey hospital & medical center in Burlington, MA, Boston common coffee co. in Boston, MA.
